This large rectangular pool at Rock Glen Conservation Area, near Arkona in Lambton County, was due for a new interior. A pool like this sees a lot of swimmers, so the surface needs to be smooth, durable and easy to keep clean.

Before

With the pool drained, the old surface was prepared from end to end, including the wide entry steps at the shallow end.

Prepped, then a fresh coat of white marbelite before filling.

What was done

  • Draining and surface prep across the whole shell, so the new coat bonds properly.
  • New white marbelite, troweled on by hand over the floor, walls and every step.
  • Filling and start-up, with the water balanced carefully while the new finish cured.

The result

The fresh white finish gives the water that classic clear, bright blue. The entry steps are smooth and uniform again, and the pool is ready for many more seasons of busy summers.
